Las Vegas on a budget

5 Las Vegas Budget Tips

Image
In December 2023, Zach and Stefanie enjoyed a couple nights in Las Vegas. As we all know, VEGAS is EXPENSIVE. There is absolutely no doubt about it, however we wanted to provide cheap things to do in Las Vegas and some tips and tricks on how you can still have fun in the Sin City without spending too much money. Below is a list of hotel recommendations, transportation tricks and fun activities to do while you are visiting Las Vegas.  1. Hotel Recommendation:  We stayed at the Jockey Club Suites , which is a hotel located between the Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan. You probably never heard about the Jockey Club Suites, but it's an affordable way to stay on the Strip. The rooms are spacious, the staff was friendly and you can use the Cosmopolitan's amenities during your stay. The rooms are not glamorous, but include a full kitchen and living room. Some of the Suites even overlook the Bellagio Fountains.  2. Bellagio Fountains:  The Bellagio Water Show , is a founta...

Clearwater Beach, Florida

On June 30th, we were supposed to catch a flight to Lisbon, Portugal for a family vacation. Unfortunately because of Covid, all of our flights were canceled. July 1st, is Stefanie’s birthday and it was important for us to still take some time off to relax and celebrate. We decided to book 5 nights at the Shephards Beach Resort in Clearwater Beach. We decided to stay in a room with a kitchen so we could eat at the hotel as much as possible. Additionally, we reached out to the Hotel to ensure social distancing is encouraged. The hotel has private beach access and a pool. Each guest is required to wear a wristband to avoid outside guests to enter the hotel. Day 1: As we don’t feel comfortable flying, we decided to drive to Clearwater Beach from Charlotte. The drive is around 9 hours long so we stopped at a hotel in Brunswick, GA on the way down to the Beach. The Best Western Plus Brunswick Inn &Suites was very clean, had a pool and provided a breakfast. I would recommend stayi...

Tybee Island 2020

The Claywells decided to hit the road again to enjoy a couple days at the beach! Tybee Island is a small little peninsula 20 minutes from Savannah, Georgia. We have been coming there for years and even decided to get married there in 2019. We were supposed to spend our first anniversary in Germany but due to the travel restrictions we opted in to stay local and get back to our happy place. Below you will find a list of our favorite and must do things to do on Tybee Island: We have eaten there 3 times and those are truly the best sandwiches in the world! This delicious and unique takeout spot describes itself as a mix of "Swiss, Italian, South African and Dutch" food, and all the food is designed to make you say " Shit Yeah !". It is definitely worth it to pick up some giant sandwiches on the way to Tybee Island.
